But until I successfully do, “awesome” will have to suffice.
We’re finally close enough to our best friends to have loads of fun spending the snow days with them! I stayed out longer this year than I have in years, and I had WAY more fun!
We were all having too much fun to get very many pictures, but I’ve picked out a few of the best ones (of ours) to post here.
I woke up to this yesterday morning. Pretty, no? I particularly liked the way the snow was on the cedars.
A bunch of us met over at the Lovett’s for some fellowship fun. Everybody was almost unrecognizable in all their snow gear; that caused a few good laughs throughout the day.
In the previous picture we were standing around waiting on the most awesome Tennessee redneck sled ride ever. Yes, that’s a 4-wheeler pulling a truck hood. Riding that thing is definitely on my list of favorite-things-to-do now. (Today’s soreness on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the sorest I’ve ever been, I’d probably put myself somewhere around a 9-9.5. It’s unbelievable, but then, so was the fun! I’d do it again – if I could get up… and back down – right away!)
Sometimes waiting gets boring. That, however, is easily remedied.
Eventually the area we were at kind of … got used up. So, we packed everything, and everyone, up and headed over to our hay pasture where there was lots of room and fresh snow. For some of us that’s where the fun really happened! We didn’t get any pictures of it though. So, I’m afraid you’ll just have to imagine a bunch of freezing, wet, and amazingly happy people riding 4-wheelers and truck hoods and participating in snowball fights. It was awesome.
After everyone left, Luke and Claire made a mini snowman. Luke thoroughly enjoyed his day in the snow (and he still managed to get at least most of a day of school in earlier in the day!).
Yesterday was yet another reminder, an extremely fun reminder, of how wonderful our community is. I love it here, and I’m grateful to my awesome friends for including us in their snow fun. Y’all are the best!
