I’m finally getting around to posting some pictures! I’ve got some here from when Luke had the chicken pox, but I’ll spare y’all… ;) There are some from Claire’s recital and presbytery though. I’ll try to let them pretty much speak for themselves:

2009-05-19 031Claire can’t go anywhere we have friends without them telling her to sing “Blue Moon of Kentucky.”

We went to Coble the Saturday before presbytery started, and we imposed on our wonderful hosts until the Monday after it ended. Yeah, that means our Jersey and the two little bull calves tagged along too. Thanks so much for the use of y’alls pasture, Lovetts! Hopefully, should we need to use it again, the next time will be when we’re in the process of moving over thataway permanently!

Presbytery, for most of us, didn’t officially start until Thursday. The days before we spent in excellent fellowship. Many of us older kids were able to help some dear friends catch up on some work that necessarily got put off because of all the recent rain. Some of the best fellowship happens when we’re all working together! The younger children, if I can trust Luke’s opinion (and I’m sure I can here), had a blast together.

The Saturday during presbytery, we were so blessed by Chris and Jacqueline Harper and Caleb Lovett. They all came over to our place (2 1/2 hours away, remember), and Claire and Jacqueline cleaned the house (I got sick on the way over. It was weird, and looks totally convenient, but I swear it wasn’t! I felt terrible.) while the guys did yard work. The place looked AMAZING when they were finished! This was an unplanned trip because we were informed that a buyer desired to look at our place on Monday. Since we left the house in a hurry the week before it was rather a wreck. Y’all will never know what a huge blessing that was! Thank you SO much!

We had originally planned on coming home Sunday evening, but because of the showing on Monday, we decided it would be easier (and it would definitely show better without all our recently unloaded baggage) to spend just one more night. All in all, presbytery week was wonderful! We had a great time getting to know some folks from various states, and it was a joy to see some old friends again. Next year’s presbytery is in IL (Harvard, I think), and I’m really hoping we’ll be able to make it. A dairy cow makes anything travel-related rather more difficult though, so we’ll see. :)

2009-05-19 047Luke helping prepare the sauce for the penne lasagna we fixed for presbytery one night. We made all the pans a week or so ahead of time, so all we had to do that night was warm ‘em up, throw some rolls in the oven, and toss a salad together.

2009-05-19 054I KNOW Luke enjoyed the company of more boys around his age. He had a blast the entire week!

2009-05-19 057One evening the Evans’ and Davis’ had the folks staying in the Coble area over for dinner at their temporary residence. Some of us chose to walk there; I love community!

2009-05-19 060The lovely Kaliste! Hey… where’d you get that flower, Kaliste? ;)

2009-05-19 092Thursday evening we had a dance. It was lots of fun! I believe I happened to be Chris H.’s partner during this one, but I can’t for the life of me remember what he was doing with his arms! If it is possible for anyone to know the reason why he does anything, could you please remind me what he was doing here? :)

2009-05-19 101LOL! This dance got crazy! I don’t remember what it was called, but our line had too many people in it, and it got REALLY tight! Not only was it tight, but, as you can sort of see here, the ladies had to pass between the gents. So, yeah, it was… interesting. :P

Unfortunately our camera died during the dance, so we didn’t get any pictures of the rest of the week. Here are a couple links to some other folks’ pictures from presbytery:

I’m sure there will be more, and I’ll post links as I find them (and the time!).
